ONLINE WORKSHOPS

The Future Perfect Project provides free weekly and monthly online writing, arts, and performing workshops for LGBTQIA+ Youth & Allies around the world. These programs are for LGBTQIA+ Youth & Allies, ages 13–21, currently enrolled in High School & 8th grade, who can join from anywhere in the world via Zoom. Workshops are held in English. Connect, laugh and share in a safe space that gives you the chance to meet LGBTQIA+ young people from all over the world.

All of our workshops are grant-funded and provided at no cost to participants. Though our programming is free, some workshops have limited spots while others are application based with regular time commitments, aimed towards young artists looking to cultivate their artistic practice in a more intentional way.

Ongoing Workshops

Writer’s Room, Tuesdays, 8pm-9pm ET / 5-6 PT
(bi-monthly)

A free virtual writing workshop for all backgrounds and experiences (ages 13-19).

Writer’s Room is an open invitation bi-monthly workshop that focuses on developing writing skills for LGBTQIA+ creatives ages 13-19 of all skill levels. We’ll gather online to study queer writers, reflect upon current events, respond to prompts, and honor our inner artists by creating a pathway from our insides to the outside world. On occasion, queer guest-facilitators are welcomed into the space to share their personal experience as a writer and artist. This workshop is great for those who are just discovering their voice, and for those who want to continue expanding and developing their artistic point of view. We invite anyone to connect with the community, share, reflect, and respond. Though consistency is highly encouraged, the workshops are non-consecutive and participants may join at any time during the season. Each session is facilitated by two LGBTQIA+ artists, holding space to support your writing practice and affirm your queerness.

Participants who attend 5 sessions receive a certificate of completion of creative autobiographical writing from The Future Perfect Project.
