The Future Perfect Project provides free weekly and monthly online writing, arts, and performing workshops for LGBTQIA+ Youth & Allies around the world. These programs are for LGBTQIA+ Youth & Allies, ages 12–19, currently enrolled in High School & 8th grade, who can join from anywhere in the world via Zoom. Workshops are held in English. Connect, laugh and share in a safe space that gives you the chance to meet LGBTQIA+ young people from all over the world.
All of our workshops are grant-funded and provided at no cost to participants. Though our programming is free, some workshops have limited spots while others are application based with regular time commitments, aimed towards young artists looking to cultivate their artistic practice in a more intentional way.
The Inaugural FPP Podcast Project
(An Application Based Workshop)
Who you are has never been in the whole history of the world, and your generation is unlike any other that has come before. Are you a writer, performer, composer, media producer, or overall creative? And between the ages of 16 and 22? If so then apply here to tell your story and be a part of The Future Perfect Project’s inaugural podcast series.
Over the course of 4 months, a selected team of ten LGBTQIA+ youth will collaborate to produce a podcast series from start to finish that expresses the sentiment of your generation.
◦ This application-based workshop will place YOU in the drivers seat, supported by queer FPP facilitators to create something completely original.
◦ The deadline to apply is March 15th.*
◦ Accepted participants will receive a $200 stipend for participation at the end of the 4 month process.
*Applications are now closed for this project.
Writer’s Room, 8pm-9pm ET / 5-6 PT
A free virtual writing workshop for all backgrounds and experiences (ages 12-19). Starting 2/8/22, Tuesdays from February to May (RSVP below to save your spot)
Writer’s Room is an open invitation bi-monthly workshop that focuses on developing writing skills for creatives of all backgrounds. We’ll gather online to share anything that’s on our minds, collectively create and respond to a prompt, and honor our inner artists by creating a pathway from our insides to the outside world. This workshop is great for those who are just discovering their voice, and for those who want to continue exploring and developing their artistic point of view. We invite anyone to come connect with the community, share, reflect, and respond. Though consistency is encouraged, the workshops are non-consecutive and participants may join at any time during the season. Each session is facilitated by a different pair of queer artists.
Writer's Room is a free, open invitation workshop. We have limited spots per session, so RSVP below!
Residencies and Application Based Workshops
Throughout the year, we offer application based workshops and intensives. The focus may vary, such as songwriting, autobiography, poetry, theater media production. These workshops are aimed towards young artists looking to cultivate and deepen their artistic practice in an intentional way. These workshops require regular time commitments, that can range from a a week to a few months, and may include and culminate in a more formalized media project or production.
